Last night someone said many mainstream Christians in the US see the Republicans as having a strong response to the Islamic threat. Call me an idiot, but I'm not sure what the Islamic threat actually is. Is this about an elemental struggle to defend Western values, societies and civilization, or is this a problem of governance? Is this a war? Is it one about modernity? Power? Legitimacy? I think we get to decide.
