"Be prepared to be bombed. Be prepared to go back to the stone age". That ain't no terrorist talking, that's the then US deputy secretary of state Richard Armitage to Pakistan's intelligence director asking for cooperation in the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan, alleges Pakistan's president, General Pervez Musharraf. That's on Sunday's CBS 60 Minutes; around about now he's due to be in a press conference with President Bush.

I know it's very l'esprit de l'escalier, but I thought Musharraf really captured something when he said, "I think it was a very rude remark".
