Political debate moves on apace. The White House press office is going back and forth on how similar the Iraq insurgency might now be to the Tet Offensive in Vietnam. Personally, I preferred it a month ago when we were comparing the Iraq situation with punctuation.

I think this chapter of Iraq's history will look more like a colon, then a dash, then an open bracket. That's the emoticon for "unhappy face".
