New Year's in Berlin: rockets and firecrackers going off all over the place, and then even more as midnight approached, like a breakdown in law and order or training for a land war. I was near Turmstraße and saw fireworks being laid in the intersection, thrown under passing police cars and rockets used as handhelds.
