On the Channel Island of Sark, the Clameur de Haro - a legal device - is still enforceable. It's invoked by falling to one's knees and shouting, "Haro! Haro! Haro! À l'aide, mon Prince, on me fait tort," then reciting the Lord's Prayer in French. On Sark it was last used in 1970 to prevent the construction of a garden wall.
