Review of the year, 2007: Globally this was the first year there were more people living in urban areas than in rural areas, based on UN projections. In Iraq, the British left and the US surge started working. And earlier this year, the presidential election formally exceeded our human capacity for producing and consuming political commentary. From next year a lot of this will be done by computers. Four stars.
