There Will Be Blood (2007): A polished piece of work even when Daniel Day-Lewis sounds like Ron Burgundy. He never quite says it: "And you ate the whole... wheel of cheese? How'd you do that? Heck, I'm not even mad; that's amazing." You're watching it for the characters, the story's spare and the backdrops are sparse. Although the score's too dramatic in places, there's set pieces in here that would do well on stage.
