Reminisce (part 58): At the offices of the national newspaper group in Sri Lanka a few years ago it seemed to be that the higher up you were in status, the colder your office was. I was once in the chief editor's office which not only had arctic air conditioning, the ceiling fans were on full blast. His desk was windswept with heavy paperweights carefully positioned to keep the flapping piles of paper in place.
