WhatsApp's homepage still showcases their blog post from June 2012, titled "Why we don't sell ads". It's quite anti-structure, quoting Tyler Durden and warning, "Remember, when advertising is involved you the user are the product." Fast forward to the present and Maciej Cegłowski reliably quips:
