The dog ran through the neighbourhood and we gave chase. Two cats basked nonchalantly on a thin wall and another lay above them in a pine tree, looking down from a cloud plateau of needles. Then there was some kind of torrential rain and I swam against it to close the convertible. And finally Korean drumming and sushi. Many dreams coming true. I should mention that on Thursday an Akihabara policeman kindly gave me ¥20 ( 9.5 pence) so that I could afford a train ticket to the nearest Citibank ATM - it turns out it really is true that most cash machines in Tokyo still don't accept foreign Visa or debit cards.
