Two years ago Chipotle (the burrito people) decided to stop using ad agencies. Later they commissioned a London-based director to make an ad about sustainable farming which took a year to make. It's been doing well on YouTube since August and reached TV during this year's Grammys - http://youtu.be/aMfSGt6rHos
